Welcome to the Chamber of Trade
in Sandy, Bedfordshire.
With our history going back to the iron age, and occupation in Roman time, the town Sandy has a long history of trading. Located on the A1, 45 miles from London, the town boasts strong rail and road links in all directions. Much of the town and surrounding area was once devoted to market gardening, and Sandy supplied both London and Peterborough markets for many years.
In more recent years, the town has become home to nearly 12,000 residents and the nature of our trade has changed. There are currently over 70 shops, cafes, services and small businesses trading in the town centre, and a wide variety of organisations operating in the Middlefield Industrial Estate and throughout the residential areas of the town.
The Chamber of Trade in Sandy exists to represent the interests of all local businesses. We meet every month to give members the opportunity to discuss and exchange views, on matters relating to trade and business generally.
We support initiatives driven by the local authorities, but also stand together to have a presence when opposed to plans that may threaten the growth of trade in the town. Sandy Chamber of Trade is free of political ties and so can oppose any authority which seeks to curtail rights and privileges of the business community.
We engage guest speakers for our meetings, keeping our members up to date with legislative matters, social media use, crime and security and much more.
Sandy Chamber meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Times and venues vary, so please check this site for details.
We welcome new members, so please contact us to find out more about how joining Sandy Chamber of Trade can benefit your business.
